Utilities and Taxes

Regardless of where you live in Marquette County you will incur the same county tax millage rates. In the cities the local tax rates will generally be higher than the township millage rates due to many more services and much more access to public and private services with conveniences. But Ishpeming Hills is in a unique situation as it recently has been designated as a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone. This means that your city taxes will be the lowest in the county. The millage rate is approximately 17 mills and the abatement will last for approximately 15 years.

 Septic systems enable you to avoid city sewer charges, the refuse millage means no city garbage service charges, and the water rates in Ishpeming are extremely low (2,000 gallon consumption cost only  $13.00/month).
