The Country Village Resort in Ishpeming is centrally located within Marquette County's extensive trail system of over 500++ miles of trails. These trails then connect to over 2000 miles of interconnected U.P. trails.
Located near Lake Superior in the North Central Upper Peninsula, Ishpeming offers excellent riding and splendid scenic beauty. Being near Lake Superior also ensures a crucial snowmobiling element; lots of lake effect snow. With an annual snowfall average of over 14 feet, Ishpeming is almost guaranteed an excellent supply of “white gold” every year.
Due to its location Ishpeming has very favorable early and late season riding too. Snowfall generally begins in early November and doesn’t let up until April. This makes for great pre-holiday riding and end of season trips.
Riders visiting Ishpeming also find that they have a wide range of day trips to take around the U.P.
- One of the most popular loops is the 150+ mile south loop that begins in Ishpeming. From there riders travel east through Negaunee and then head south into Gwinn. From Gwinn, riders head west towards Republic (home of the Moose County Snowmobile club) and then North through Champion and back into Ishpeming. This ride showcases the areas natural beauty along with several unique stops along the way.
- Another popular trip is the 180+ mile North loop up towards Big Bay. From Big Bay you can head west through the scenic Huron Mountains and into Baraga. From Baraga the ride swings Southeast and returns to Ishpeming after passing through Three Lakes, Michigamme and Champion.
- For those looking for a longer ride there are many other side trails leading to scenic overlooks and destinations throughout the area.
